July 16, 2011 Leave a comment

In my last post about link exchange I mentioned what you shouldn’t do. Today I would like to tell you what you can do.

As mentioned in my last post, bad link exchange isn’t good for your site. In fact, it can even harm your site. But you also have to know that link exchange is very important. This leads us into kind of a dilemma, because how do we know if a link exchange is good or bad?

Well let me try to answer this question with one easy and more or less “general rule”.

Imagine your best friend is visiting you, new in town and would ask you where to go for dinner. You wouldn’t recommend a bad restaurant, right? You would tell him, based on your experience, which restaurant your friend should go to. And because you know your friend very well, so you would even know what kind of restaurant to choose.

Getting your website ranked higher is for sure a goal you want to achieve. But be careful what you do, because not everything you can do will help your site. Even worse some action can even harm your site. Today I would like to share a tip about buying links and link exchange in general.

What and event, eh? So many people came to the INTERNeX Class of 2011 at the Blarney Stone. We calculated that we had an overall of 400-500 guests during the evening. A School Bus was picking up people from around the Vancouver Convention Centre, as well other receptions. A DJ and a live band was playing fantastic music. The food was great and I had lots of drinks and chats with many amazing people.

The INTERNeX PR team were mainly running the show. Elvera was the host of the evening, Elke was the Gamemaster and Franziska was in charge of the Photo booth. Claudia, who already knew a lot of people, because she went to the NAFSA conference itself, was greeting special guests and was also making sure everyone had a good time.

This year, the annual NAFSA conference takes place in Vancouver BC – Canada. As I mentioned before in some of my previous Blog posts. Many of you know, that I support Education via SocialVibe for some time. If you check out my profile http://www.socialvibe.com/simok33 you can help me, helping children in the developing world to get the education they need. SocialVibe has many sponsors such as Ford, Windows, Nestle, abc, Apple to name just a few. Those companies may look via SocialVibe for an online survey or place just an online ad. For every person who is watching that ad or is doing that survey via my profile I earn points for my cause. Beside earning point via SocialVibe to support Education, I also work as Public Relations and IT Manager for INTERNeX International Exchange, who helps students and young professionals to gain work experience in Canada or in New Zealand. They help them to find accommodation as well as the right internship that fits with their professional background.

As a supporter of education and being proud to have the privilege to live in one of the best place on earth, I think you can understand that I am very happy to have the NAFSA conference here, in Vancouver BC – Canada. Read more…
