Daylight Saving Time (WTF)

Daylight Saving TimeI am living in Vancouver BC, Canada and on Sunday we will need to change our clocks to the so called daylight saving time.

Yes folks, it is this time of the year again and I honestly don’t see the point why we still do this. It is in my opinion not just a waste of time, it is just plain stupid.

Even if you can find any kind of understanding for why we started doing it in the first place, I think in our modern world we don’t need to go over the hassle changing our clocks twice a year anymore.

One of my favorite YouTuber did an excellent video about this topic, which I would like to share with you today. I wish everyone a wonderful weekend and don’t forget to check your clock because you too may or may not have to change your watch.

An interesting video, except that he totally destroyed his credibility by saying there are no seasons in the tropics, thus revealing he’s never been there and doesn’t have much clue about world geography in general.

Hi Steve, thanks for your comment and also your opinion. I still think he explains in his video very well how ridicules it is to change the clock from “Standard” to “Daylight Saving” and than back to “Standard”, don’t you think? I especially enjoyed the part where he explains how complicated it is in Arizona (Starts at 5:07). I think his video shows very well that changing the clock back and forth doesn’t make sense and is more confusing than beneficial :)
Beside, he says in his video (at about the one minute mark / Start 0:52) “pretty much don’t happened”, which does not indicate that they do not happen at all ;)

It started out being for the farmers – ironically Saskatchewan, a prairie province, is the one that doesn’t participate. Yes, I agree, it is a nuisance; but I do like the “extra” hour of daylight – in July/August the sun doesn’t set until around 10 p.m.

Thanks for your comment. I understand your argument, but still think that the time switch is more confusing than beneficial.

How about this… In the winter month we have the feeling it is dark all day anyways, so why not getting rid of the so called “Standard” time and keep the clock in Daylight Saving Mode?
