Become a Volunteer on a Husky Ranch
Huskies are amazing dogs. I think they are very beautiful, friendly, active and strong animals. I always picture them in front of a dogsled, well who doesn’t, right
But did you knew that you can actually work on a Husky Ranch as a volunteer?
Yes you can and I think that this is an amazing opportunity and can become an unforgettable experience. On the INTERNeX Website you can find out what you need to know to become part of that amazing volunteer project.
Here are some information for you:
Volunteer Experience Overview
Did you ever want to explore the world of dog sledding and the unique way of living the ‘bush life’? This ranch is extremely popular with young volunteers from around the globe, wishing to experience time with Siberian Huskies. They are in need for volunteers year round. The work with the dogs and on the ranch is physically demanding and it is by no means an’ easy holiday option’! The minimum duration of stay is 4 weeks with a maximum duration of 6 weeks. Please consider that you will be surrounded by nature & wildlife. If you like to bike and hike, there are endless trails.
Responsibilities
Volunteers and Interns are the backbone of the organization. Compared to other sled dog kennels they are considered a micro – mushing kennel. All of the dogs live together in large free running enclosures. Set in amongst a pristine forest, surrounded by lush meadows the huskies have the use of their own 280 sq ft “ Doggy Cabin”. The fresh straw inside keeps them safe and warm from severe winter temperatures.

Thanks for the info, cause I was looking for something like that.

Great, thank you for the information, that sounds amazing! I have one questions, what would be the best time of the year to go to the Husky Ranch?
Hey Josh, thanks for your comment. I would think that between November and March would be the best time, if you are interested in dogsledding. If you go between April and October, you would have the chance to experience a great summer in Canada on the Husky Ranch and have lots of opportunities to enjoy the rich wildlife. However I would recommend to fill out the online information request form from INTERNeX that you can find at
http://www.internexworld.com/index.php/programs/volunteer/volunteer-application-form.html
I am sure they will give you much better details as I can do.
Thanks for the quick reaction, I will contact INTERNeX and see when the best time is to go to volunteer at the Husky Ranch!
You are welcome and have fun
That sounds like an amazing experience! I am going to Canada at the end of this year and definitely would like to volunteer at the Husky Ranch at the end of my travel.
Hi Fiona,
thank you for your comment. I hope you will have a great time in Canada
Today I was checking my stats and saw that this post was one of the most popular posts. Because INTERNeX has changed their website I thought it is necessary to edit the links original provided in this post as well as in my comments. But I did not wanted to do those changes without leaving a note
This Post as well as the comments were updates on the 11th April 2012
